| "Maya Symphony In Reds and Jade" Pastel on Wood 11x14" This painting was inspired by the great painter Jean Leon Gerome. I was fascinated by his ablity to create great detailed paintings within the confines of a small working surface. Thus is my motivation for the dimensions. As for the elements of the painting, I wanted to talk about the feeling of isolation the individual experiences within a society. This was evident in the time of the Great Maya cities as well as today. |
