I woke up a little later than normal today. I blame that on the daylight savings time. I did manage to work on the painting today. Actually I am working on the drawing aspects. I believe what Ingres, said that a good painting is 85% drawing. It is the container that all else falls within.

I found that a more careful examination of the contours reveals the subtle language of realism and the grace within the line of the form. There are artists that feel that there is no line in painting. I believe they are missing the boat. They are missing a great deal.

I hope to work on this piece some more this evening. While being a full time artist and having a full time job, its important that I acquire all the opportunities to paint and draw.
